DECISIONS

Front page June 15, 2010

You have two stories of equal newsworthiness. How do you handle them?

The above stories are about the board of trustees run-off races. Stacking does not work. But the photographs are different sizes, so a Column Splitter at the top will work only if some changes are made.

Here is the revised module.

The photos are 300 pixels wide and 218 pixels deep, and they were edited to be that size.  Notice also that a different photo appears in the revised module. It shows the winner talking on the telephone to her father, an ardent supporter. This is my personal opinion, and others may disagree. I like it because it shows her in a quiet moment shared with a loved one, not the crowd.

The headlines were rewritten to fit the spaces and you have a pleasing arrangement, I think.

This is the final page arrangement.
